The HiPRO Utrecht Marathon takes place in late May and draws more than 18,500 runners. Start and finish are at Utrecht Science Park, and the course links the historic centre with green surroundings; there are a marathon, half, 10 km, kids' and business runs, and in 2026 it hosted the Dutch half-marathon championships. Utrecht is the heart of the Netherlands: the Dom Tower, two-level canals with waterside terraces, the Centraal Museum and the Rietveld Schröder House.
