The Drielandenpunt Trail is a winter trail weekend in late January at the Three-Country Point near Vaals, where the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany meet and the Vaalserberg is the highest point of the Dutch mainland. Organisers call it the trail with the most elevation gain in the Netherlands. Distances range from 11 to 50 km over Saturday and Sunday, plus two-day challenges (17 + 27 or 17 + 42 km). Aachen with Charlemagne's cathedral and Maastricht are close by.
