Velká Kunratická is one of the Czech Republic's oldest races: held since 1934 on the second Sunday of November, it reaches its 93rd edition on 8 November 2026. The main course is about 3.1 km through Kunratice Forest in south Prague, with notoriously steep climbs and descents that drain everything over such a short distance; in all there are ten courses from 370 m to 3.1 km. Last year over 4,100 runners took part, more than a thousand of whom have started 20 times or more, and 255 'legends' over 40 times. It is a family tradition across generations, often in November rain or snow. Afterwards: Vyšehrad, the Nusle valley and Prague's cosy cafés.
An easy run with a local club the day before the race — the best way to shake out the legs and meet the city.
