The Vhi Women's Mini Marathon is a legendary women-only 10K through central Dublin (despite the name 'marathon', the distance is exactly 10 km). Running since 1983, it draws tens of thousands who run, jog or walk for a huge range of charities. It starts on Fitzwilliam Place and finishes on Lower Baggot Street; the course is flat and entirely urban. Over its 43-year history more than 1.1 million women have taken part. The festive, supportive atmosphere makes it a perfect 'straight-off-the-couch' event for visitors.
