Vienna Trail Run
The Vienna Trail Run is an autumn trail race in the Vienna Woods, held on 18 October in 2026; organisers promise 'trail running over the rooftops of Vienna'. There are three races: the 7.5 km Light Trail (300 m of climbing), the 16 km Classic Trail (550 m) and the 24.7 km Power Trail (1,000 m). Start and finish are at Cobenzl in the 19th district, and the trails wind through golden autumn forest on the city's edge, with views over the Danube and central Vienna. The event holds the Austrian Ecolabel for green events, with minimal waste and regional catering. Afterwards there are the vineyards and Heuriger wine taverns of Grinzing and Nussdorf, the Kahlenberg viewpoint and, of course, Vienna itself with its palaces and coffee houses.
