The WLR Waterford Viking Marathon is a June running weekend in Waterford with a marathon, half marathon, 10K, marathon relay, the inclusive Run for All and children's races; in 2026 more than 5,500 participants from 35 countries were expected. The course is a true 'run through history' in the city founded by the Vikings. The race has gained international recognition, and more than 300 volunteers and crowds along the streets give it a warm, homely feel. Waterford offers Reginald's Tower, the museums of the Viking Triangle, the House of Waterford Crystal and the soft local bread rolls known as blaa.
