Wien Energie Business Run

The Wien Energie Business Run is a mass corporate race on Vienna's Danube Island held in September; the 25th edition in 2026 expected more than 31,500 participants from around 1,000 companies. Colleagues run in teams or Nordic walk, starting in 20 blocks with waves every 15 minutes from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. The short, flat course along the Danube is open to everyone, but the real draw is the atmosphere: two stages, eight hours of DJs and hosts and a 10-metre 'Tower of Power' with LED walls at the finish. Afterwards the island turns into a giant party — its 3,250 beer-table sets would stretch 7.2 km laid end to end. The Danube Island is Vienna's favourite spot for cycling, swimming and picnics, and the Prater with its Giant Ferris Wheel is close by.
