Wienerwald Ultra Trail (WUT)

The Wienerwald-Ultra-Trail (WUT) is an autumn trail race in the Vienna Woods organised by Run4Joy; in 2026 it takes place on 3 October. The 50 and 100 km races are on offer for the fourth year running and carry UTMB ratings, while shorter formats — Speed, Sprint, Single- and Double-WUT — cater for those not ready for an ultra. The routes run over the wooded hills and paths of the Wienerwald: beech forests, meadows, abbeys and villages, a constant roll of climbs and descents, and on the 100 km plenty of running in the dark. In recent years runners from up to 20 nations have taken part. The Vienna Woods mean Heiligenkreuz Abbey, Mayerling hunting lodge, Heuriger taverns with young wine and Vienna itself just next door.
