The Wings for Life World Run is a global charity race that starts simultaneously worldwide, and Ljubljana is Slovenia's official location; on 10 May 2026, 4,658 people started here, with another 750 running via the app. There is no finish line: half an hour after the start a catcher car sets off, and your race ends when it overtakes you — in 2026 ski jumper Domen Prevc was at the wheel in Ljubljana. The route runs through Bežigrad and Šiška, around Rožnik hill, and the strongest escape through Domžale and Kamnik towards Vodice; Domen Hafner holds the local best of 64.98 km. All entry fees go to spinal cord injury research, and the 2026 worldwide event raised €9.2 million. Ljubljana is a green capital with the Triple Bridge, its castle, the Ljubljanica riverbanks and Tivoli Park.
