Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon is a big spring running weekend in Cluj, organised by Runners Club with support from City Hall, Babeș-Bolyai University and Cluj Arena. On Sunday runners take on the marathon, half marathon, 10 km, 4 km and a 4×10.5 km relay; on Saturday there is a 4×1.6 km company relay and a family run. There is an expo before the race, pacers on course, and many runners raise money for charity causes. The city is given over to running for the weekend, with the street atmosphere of a student festival. Cluj-Napoca is a young university city: Union Square with St Michael's Church, the Botanical Garden, coffee shops, festivals and the Transylvanian hills all around.
