Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon opens the autumn running season in early September and has been held since 1986; in 2026 more than 20,000 runners lined up for the 41st edition — a record for a Hungarian half marathon. The half starts in the morning and a 10 km at noon, with relays for two and three runners too. The course is flat and fast, along the Danube embankments with bridges and Budapest panoramas, starting and finishing in the same place. Budapest offers Parliament and Buda Castle, the Széchenyi and Gellért baths, the Great Market Hall and evening walks on Margaret Island.
