Yorkshire Marathon
18 October 2026 · York, UK
marathonurbanscenicrollingautumnhistoric
The Yorkshire Marathon takes place in October and is one of the UK's iconic marathons, with the Altra Yorkshire 10 Mile and a relay on the same day. It starts at the University of York, passes through the historic city, then heads beyond the walls into countryside via Stockton-on-the-Forest and Buttercrambe Moor Wood before returning to finish on campus. The profile is mostly gentle, with pacers and thousands of spectators, and all profits from organiser Run For All go to the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. York offers its Minster, medieval walls, the Shambles, the National Railway Museum and afternoon tea at Bettys.
