The Zandvoort Circuit Run has been held in late March since 2008, combining the Formula 1 track with the beach and paths of the seaside village. Distances are 4 km, 12 km and ten English miles (16.1 km). Since the Grand Prix returned to Zandvoort, interest has soared: 14,000 runners in 2023, and the organisers openly talk of a 'Max effect'. Zandvoort is a beach resort half an hour from Amsterdam, next to Zuid-Kennemerland National Park with dunes and bison, and charming Haarlem.
