The NN Zevenheuvelenloop ('seven hills run') has taken place in November since 1984: 15 km from Nijmegen to Groesbeek and back over terrain that is rare in the Netherlands. Despite the climbs, it is fantastically fast: both current 15 km world records were set here — 40:42 by Jacob Kiplimo (2024) and 44:20 by Letesenbet Gidey (2019). Nijmegen is the oldest city in the Netherlands, founded by the Romans: the Waalkade riverfront, Valkhof park and the Waal bridge.
