The Salomon Zugspitz Ultratrail is one of Germany's top trail races and a UTMB World Series event: distances from short to over 100 km around the Zugspitze (2,962 m), the country's highest peak, with thousands of metres of climbing. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is an alpine resort with the Partnach Gorge, the Eibsee lake and the 1936 Olympic ski jump.
