Zurich Marathon

The Zürich Marathon is Switzerland's leading spring marathon, held in April and attracting both professionals and amateurs. Start and finish are at the upper end of Lake Zurich, and the course passes through the city centre before running mostly along the lakeshore, flat and fast, with views of the water and the snowy Alps on the horizon. You can choose the full marathon, the half marathon or the 10 km City Run, and the promenades and lakeside towns fill with spectators. Zurich offers an old town with the Grossmünster and the Fraumünster with its Chagall windows, the Bahnhofstrasse, bathing spots on the lake and the Limmat, and the views from the Uetliberg.
