The first thing to know about Garda Trentino: there is no organised pasta party the night before the race. Villa Giara and Madonna delle Vittorie in Arco sometimes get mentioned as regional options, but it isn’t an established runners’ tradition — so plan your own dinner, and leave yourself time to spare.
After the finish, though, everything is thought through: the medal and recovery zone are right by the water, and in the evening the NovemBeer party kicks off at PalaFiere — according to finishers, it’s already part of the local race culture.
If you stay an extra day, it’s half an hour to Torbole (a windsurfers’ town) or the turquoise Lake Tenno, and two hours to Verona or the Dolomites.
